Carpentry in Seattle, WA

Trim, doors, framing, decks and built-ins by a crew that treats a clean joint as the whole point.

Carpentry by Michel General Services
The service

Carpentry is where sloppy work shows first: a gap over a door casing, baseboard corners that do not meet, a deck board that cups after one season. Our carpentry work runs from small repairs like a rotted fascia board to full projects like closet built-ins and deck rebuilds.

Michel brings more than 20 years of hands-on trade experience to the measuring tape, and it changes the small decisions: which fasteners outdoors, how to scribe trim to an old wavy wall, where the framing actually needs blocking. The finished piece looks right because the hidden part was done right.

Around here

Pacific Northwest carpentry has one enemy: standing moisture. Clogged gutters quietly rot fascia boards in Everett and Bothell, cedar decks in Issaquah cup when the wrong fasteners were used, and window trim on weather-facing walls goes soft years before the rest of the house. We repair with materials and details chosen for this climate, because that is the difference between fixing it and refixing it.

On the work order

  • Interior trim: baseboards, casing, crown and wainscoting
  • Door installation, adjustment and hardware
  • Deck repair and rebuilds, stairs and railings
  • Framing for remodels and partition walls
  • Custom shelving, closets and built-ins
  • Rot repair on siding, fascia and exterior trim
Sound familiar?

When homeowners call us for carpentry

  • Soft or rotted wood on fascia, siding or window trim
  • Deck boards cupping, splintering or a railing that moves
  • Doors that never hung right since the house settled
  • Baseboard and casing gaps that paint cannot hide
  • A closet that is all rod and no storage
  • That opening between rooms you always wanted framed or closed

Why us for this

What you get with our crew

Finish-grade standards

Tight miters, scribed edges and filled nail holes, even on the jobs nobody photographs.

Wood chosen for the climate

We specify materials that handle Pacific Northwest moisture instead of fighting it.

Repair or replace, honestly

If a repair will not hold, we say so and price both paths at the estimate.

How it works

Simple on purpose

  1. Look at it together

Michel checks the structure behind the symptom, not just the visible damage.

  2. Materials and plan

You get a clear scope: what gets repaired, what gets replaced, with which materials.

  3. Build and finish

Cut, fit, fasten and finish, with the site swept at the end of every day.

How long does carpentry work take?

Small repairs are usually done in a day. Trim for a full room takes one to two days, and a deck rebuild typically runs three days to a week. The estimate comes with a schedule.

Can you match my existing trim?

Usually yes. We match profiles from stock where possible and advise honestly when an exact match would need custom milling.

Can you fix water-damaged wood?

Yes, and we start by finding where the water came from, because replacing rot without fixing the source just schedules the next repair. If the leak is plumbing-side, the same crew handles it.

Do you build custom shelving and built-ins?

Yes. Closets, garage storage, alcove shelving and window seats, measured to your walls and finished to match the room.

Do you handle the painting or staining too?

Yes. Painting is one of our core services, so trim and decks can leave finished, not just installed.

Do you do carpentry on the Eastside?

Every week. Bellevue, Kirkland, Sammamish, Issaquah and Woodinville are core territory for our deck, trim and rot repairs, and Seattle and Shoreline are on the same routes.

Same crew, same visit

Most clients bundle more than one trade into the visit. These pair naturally with carpentry.
